A Gewinde-Grenzlehrdorn is a combination of a Gutlehrdorn and an Ausschusslehrdorn, with the latter marked by a red ring. The good side of the Gewindelehrdorn should screw into the cut thread of a workpiece by hand without excessive force. If it doesn't, the thread doesn't meet the desired standards (rejected). The reject side can be screwed in by hand up to two turns. If it goes further, the thread is rejected. All parts and gauges are calibrated at 20°C. VÖLKEL offers a factory calibration certificate upon request, with independent lab testing following DIN, ISO, and ANSI standards on IAC-Gewindescanners.
